We’re focused on taking practical steps to help reduce our impact. We're excited to share our carbon offset journey with you. It's our way of showing our dedication to greener thinking and making tomorrow even better.
We’re offsetting the carbon emissions created during the delivery of MILKRUN grocery orders. We’re doing this through investing in a project that contributes to the regeneration of Australian native bushland in Queensland through the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices.
We have estimated the total emissions of the MILKRUN delivery service by considering typical vehicle type, fuel efficiency and average distance travelled per delivery. To make sure we cover the emissions, we’ve selected to offset more than we'll emit.
It’s part of our commitment to greener thinking for a better tomorrow.
A carbon offset is a reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases made in order to compensate for - offset - an emission made elsewhere.
We have partnered with a leading offset provider, Tasman Environmental Markets (TEM), on an Australian project that supports native bush regeneration and sustainable agricultural practices in South-West Queensland. This project rehabilitates vegetation in areas that have historically been cleared, it seeks to improve soil quality and restores essential habitat for native wildlife.
We work with 3rd party delivery drivers who choose their own vehicle. Currently, offsets are the best way to make transporting your MILKRUN delivery a little greener.
Nope. We’re covering the costs of the carbon offset project. Delivery costs will be business-as-usual with our $5 delivery fee for minimum orders over $20 plus free delivery on the first 3 orders.
